Requisition ID: OGDxxxx7 Description: Horizon Milling is a joint venture between Cargill and CHS, Inc. flour milling, with Cargill as the majority owner and managing member. Horizon Milling operates mills in the United States and Canada that grind durum wheat, spring wheat, hard winter wheat and soft winter wheat into flours. We produce bakery mix products for sale to retail and commercial bakeries, food manufacturers and retailers, government agencies and the export market. Our products are sold in bulk and also packaged for branded and private label. Operations are located in Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New York, Louisiana, Kansas, Texas, Utah and California, United States and Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan, Canada. Position Overview Responsible for building and maintaining healthy plant assets and equipment capabilities. Activities include development, alignment & implementation of reliability excellence practices/processes; proactive maintenance and repair; project planning, contractor/vendor management; best practice application; people development, training and management. Principal Accountabilities 45% - Asset Health/Capability * Implements and manages preventative maintenance and reliability activities at the site. * Supervises, monitors and reviews maintenance activities and records to ensure asset health and adherence to guidelines, codes, regulations, requirements and overall production quality. * Oversees the execution of repair procedures and tasks to ensure compliance with the fundamental plant reliability strategies, standards and practices. * Develops, maintains and applies consistent maintenance and reliability best practices. * Establishes and manages overall plant/department/areas maintenance budgets. 25% - Reliability Excellence * Responsible for aligning, deploying and executing Business Unit wide reliability excellence vision, strategy as well as direct program administration. * Supports the deployment of Reliability Excellence processes across the plant and ensures the reliability culture is foundational to operations. * Champions the plant Environmental, Health, Personnel Safety and Food Safety processes. 15% - Project Management * Manages ongoing maintenance/ reliability related projects (i.e. asset reliability/defect elimination) utilizing a broad knowledge of maintenance and reliability practices and procedures. * Directly lead/oversee general project planning, cost estimation and tracking & payback justification. * Recommends/approves selection of contractors/vendors. Manages, analyzes maintenance vendor issues and contract administration. 15% - Talent Management * Responsible for the people management in area of responsibility including recruiting, retention, development and engagement of team. * Identifies training opportunities/needs and facilitates training sessions for maintenance personnel, focusing on skills training and development, safety practices and work standards. My provide ad-hoc technical support as needed. Serves as a source of maintenance/reliability. * Responsible for the appropriate scheduling and delegation of activities for a team of maintenance/reliability employees and 3rd party contractors. Required * Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or GED equivalent and seven years maintenance and/or production experience. * 2 years or more experience in production, maintenance/reliability, or project management * Training and knowledge/management of proactive maintenance model * Experience with hands on troubleshooting and exposure to the repair of industrial equipment * Management experience in Environmental Health & Safety related areas * Demonstrated ability to identify and implement detailed solutions to complex technical problems involving multiple technologies * Strong communication, organization and time management skills. * Demonstrated strong leadership skills and ability to develop others * Knowledge of predictive technologies (vibration, infrared, ultrasound, machinery lubrication) * Proficiency in computer skills including use of spreadsheets and databases. * Knowledge of Environmental Laws pertaining to plant controls/equipment and proper clean up procedures Preferred * Certified Maintenance Reliability Profession (CMRP) certification * 2 years experience directly supervising maintenance employees. * Prior experience utilizing a computerized maintenance management system to manage maintenance activities. * Experience with continuous improvement tools such as 5 Why analysis, cause/effect mapping, 5S strategies, etc. * Application of precision maintenance techniques * Familiar with reliability centered maintenance techniques * Familiar with condition monitoring technologies and planning and scheduling processes to create a reliable plant.
